Surreal Art of Li Wei

Earlier this year I visited the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery inside the Vancouver UBC campus, and discovered the art of a very unique artist, his name is Li Wei. According to his official website , he was born on Sept 5, 1970 in Hubei, China. He currently lives in Beijing where he studied art.

What is special about Li Wei's work is that many of his works feature his trademark anti-gravity "superhero poses". In his works, sometimes he floats on trees like a Kung Fu master, sometimes he is plunged upside down with his head in the ground like a failed missile. Keep in mind that these images are not computered generated. Looks like Li Wei has a very unique sense of humor =].
