Beach Drive

Last Sunday I almost slept till noon. Originally I didn't have any plans, suddenly my friend called and said she was bored, and asked if I wanted to go out. Since the weather was pretty nice and not too hot, so I agreed to go.

But where should we go? We just went to Spanish Banks a few days ago; always shopping downtown is also getting a little tiring. I joked about taking the ferry to Victoria, unbelievably my friend said yes. So we began driving to Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal at about 12 noon

Maybe because it was Sunday noon, it seemed that not many people were going to Victoria. Most people by this time probably finished their weekend in Victoria and beginning to return. So we were able to quickly got the tickets and got on the 2pm ferry. It cost 72 dollars CAD for two people, not cheap at all.

It took about 1.5 hour of ferry ride to arrive at Vancouver Island's Swartz Bay. After that we drove for about half an hour to get to Downtown Victoria. Once downtown, we first wanted to park somewhere and walk around, but because we didn't know the directions, we almost drove onto a one way lane = =. Highly recommend everyone pay attention to the street signs. Later, somehow we drove onto a road along the sea called Dallas Road.

We kept driving along this curvy road, and then somehow Dallas Road turned into Beach Drive. Anyways, whatever the road's name is, the important thing is that this road has great scenery. Along the way there are also many scenic points for stopping. We chose one for a short stop, got off the car to breath some fresh air. Looking at the peaceful sea, feeling the nice sea breeze, it was very uplifting and relaxing.

By this time it was almost 6:30 pm. We drove back to downtown, finally found a parking spot and went for dinner. Curb parking here is free after 6! We had dinner at Milestone under the tourist information center, while looking at the ocean view. It was great!

It was 7:30 when we finished dinner and started driving back to the ferry terminal. We got on the 9pm ferry, and were already back to Vancouver Tsawassen Ferry Terminal by about 10:30. This half-day trip although was short, but it was very relaxing and re-charging.
