Sunset at Vancouver Spanish Banks
Summer in Vancouver is usually cool and dry, but this year's August we are seeing some unusually hot temperature. The hosttest few days probably went up to about 34 degree Celsius.
In this kind of hot weather, the best thing to do is of course going to the beach! My friends told me that Spanish Banks near UBC is very beautiful, so of course I need to use this holiday to check it out.
Arriving about noon, I didn't expect so many people there. Not only could we not find a place to park, even if we could park I think the beach would be full and there was no place to sit. Anyways the sun was pretty strong I didn't want to fry my skin anyways.
So we ended up leaving and finding a restaurant to eat. It was more important to fill our stomachs. After eating, it was almost 8pm. We went back to the beach and finally there seemed to be less people. We drove along Marine Drive, found a parking lot that was not very full, and luckily was able to find a spot to park.
It was a pretty nice parking spot, because it was very close to the water. We didn't have to walk through a lot of sand, perfect for someone like me who doesn't like getting my feet dirty. By this time the sun was setting, the sea reflecting the golden sun rays, it was really beautiful. Listening to the sounds of the waves, while looking at the beautiful colors in the sky, it was as if I was in a totally different dimension.
