Vancouver Pitt Meadows Pitt Lake

in

Located East of Vancouver, in Pitt Meadows, there is a beautiful place called Grant Narrows Regional Park. This park is located beside beautiful lake called Pitt Lake.

What is special about this park is that there is a long dyke. On one side of the dyke is the lake, on the other side it is a marsh called Katzie Marsh. When taking a walk on the dyke, having water on both sides provides a wonderful scenery and a relaxed feeling.

Near the middle of the dyke, there is a wooden observation tower. Once you climb up you can view the surrounding in 360 degree. Other than the beautiful lake and marsh, the surrounding mountains are also magnificient. In the late afternoon when the afternoon sun shines through the gaps between clouds, it is amost like a fairy tale.

On the lake side there are also canoes for rental. A 20 foot canoe which can fit 4 people only costs about $80 CAD for one whole day. Unfortunately when we went there it was already 5:30 in the late afternoon, and they close at 6, so we couldn't go into the water. Next time I definately want to try it!

One thing you ladies should be aware of, is that the toilets there are really gross! So just beware.
